As part of Qatar Sustainability Week 2026, Qatar Museums invites staff members to participate in the Qatar Museums Environment & Heritage Stewardship Day 2026, a volunteer environmental cleanup initiative at the historic Al Zubarah Archaeological Site. This activity aims to bring together QM employees in support of environmental stewardship while contributing to the preservation of one of Qatar's most important cultural and heritage landmarks.
The cleanup drive provides an opportunity for staff to actively contribute to environmental protection, promote responsible waste management practices, and strengthen collective efforts towards sustainability and heritage conservation.
Event Details:
- Date: 4 November 2026
- Location: Al Zubarah Archaeological Site
- Departure from National Museum of Qatar- Parking (near NMOQ Metro station exit) : 7:15 a.m.
- Expected Return to NMOQ Parking: 12:30 p.m.
- Transportation: Provided by Qatar Museums
Important Notes:
- Participants must obtain approval from their respective line managers before registering.
- Participants are advised to bring their own reusable water bottle to support QM's sustainability objectives and minimize single-use plastic consumption.
- Comfortable clothing, suitable footwear, hats, and sun protection are recommended.
- All cleanup equipment, PPE, and materials will be provided on site.
Registration Information:
Participation is voluntary however, advance registration is required to facilitate transportation and logistics arrangements. Join your colleagues and be part of a meaningful day of environmental action and heritage preservation.
